With a choice of one, two or three-night stays, our Year 6 residential trips are a great learning experience for students, where they can learn and develop important life skills, as well as having an unforgettable time with their classmates.
With the challenges of SATs or secondary school preparation, a Rootd Year 6 residential trip can be a great chance for children to build self-belief and resilience, so they can feel confident facing the future. What’s included in a Rootd Year 6 school residential trip?
1. An adventure-based night away
On this one-night adrenaline-filled residential, children take part in a range of outdoor activities, such as archery, cratestacking and our Survivor Bushcraft session, before enjoying songs and hot chocolate round the campfire and snuggling down in their cosy accommodation.
2. An two-night residential adventure
Students experience the very best of the outdoors through a combination of Survivor and Explorer sessions, adventure activities and exciting team challenges. The extra night allows for more evening games, as well as double the hot chocolate!
3. A three-night residential trip
For schools looking for a longer stay, adventurous activities including pot-holing, buggy build and high ropes add to the excitement. There's also more time for bonding and exploring the outdoors, with tree identification, foraging, bug hunts and nature-based games.

Step outside of your comfort zone and explore our underground tunnels for a real sense of achievement before combining rope skills with team work to build the ultimate buggy. |

| Explorer and Survivor Bushcraft | Work together to build the your ideal woodland shelter using materials found within the woodland. Learn how to safely use a fire-steel and build the perfect campfire to roast marshmallows Explore the woodland, learning about Plants & Trees, Insects and Vertebrates with interactive games and activities. Finish by putting your new-found plant knowledge to the test with our fun foraging session! |

The fun of a Rootd Year 6 Residential in the Autumn
On a Rootd Year 6 residential trip we love swapping looking down at phones for looking up to the starry sky at night, going on night-time walks, and enjoying hot chocolate around the campfire. Before getting cosy in our fully equipped, warm pods and woodland lodges. All of which is made more magical during the autumn and winter months when the days are shorter and the nights inviting.
